SENSEX, NIFTY CLOSE LOWER; DR REDDY’S SHARES RISE 7%

Indices pared some of the morning losses to end flat after pharma stocks rallied on positive corporate announcements. The Nifty Pharma index rose over 3% hitting 7-week high on Thursday. nifty closed down 19 points or 0.19 per cent at 10,121, while Sensex lower by 30 points or 0.09 per cent at 32,370. The Sensex and Nifty ended lower for a third straight session on Thursday, due to capital outflows by foreign funds after the US Federal Reserve announced plan to wind down stimulus measures and hinted at another interest rate hike. India Tourism Development Corp. Ltd surged 12% to Rs642. Coffee day enterprises Ltd fell 4% to Rs232. Dr Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd rose 3% to Rs2,385. Novartis India Ltd rose 5.2% to Rs682. Banking stocks fell. Andhra Bank fell 4%, Bank of India 3%. Om Metals Infraprojects Ltd surged 13% to Rs 76.
GLOBAL MARKET:
“After the Fed rate decision, Asian markets have come under slight pressure but it hasn't been a tipping point for Indian markets, chief market strategist with Geojit Financial Services.MSCI's broadest dollar-denominated index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan was down 0.5 per cent.“From a domestic point of view, investors are locking in gains after the markets sustained at peak levels for a long time. The market is looking for further cues to push prices higher.

NIFTY HOVERS AROUND 10,150 ; FED POLICY DECISION AWAITED

Sensex ended down by 1.86 points or 0.01 per cent at 32,400. and Nifty was down 6.4 points or 0.06 per cent at 10,141. The Sensex and Nifty ended flat as investors remained cautious ahead of the Fed policy decision to be announced later today. Bank of Baroda gained 3% . Karnataka Bank added 5% to Rs 162.50. Dr Reddy’s Labs, ONGC and ITC were top gainers to gains to the tune of 3.70%, 1.69% and 1.33%, respectively. Bharti Airtel Ltd fell 4.7% .Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) gained 3.4%.
GLOBAL MARKET:
MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan was up 0.05 per cent. Japan's Nikkei was effectively flat. Shanghai added 0.3 per cent, while Hong Kong's Hang Seng added 0.2 per cent.The three major US stock indexes edged higher on Tuesday, logging record closes, with financial stocks providing the biggest boost.

SENSEX, NIFTY GAIN; AHEAD OF US FED MEET

Sensex was up 32 points or 0.1 per cent at 32,455 and Nifty was up 7.55 points or 0.07 per cent at 10,160.The Sensex and Nifty were trading flat as investors awaited the Federal Reserve's policy statement this week for fresh hints on the possible pace and timing of further US monetary tightening. Tata Motors, Kotak Bank and ITC were the top gainers with gains to the tune of 4.97%, 2.13% and 0.88%, respectively.. Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd shares rose 2.03% to Rs619  .Japirakash Associates Ltd fell 11% to Rs16. Tata Global Beverages Ltd rose 1% to Rs215Indiabulls Real Estate is top gainer in the index trading at Rs 250, up by 3.62%. Other realty stocks including Delta Corp, Prestige and Sobha are also among the top gainers trading in positive territory, higher by more than 2%.
GLOBAL MARKET:
Asian shares wavered on Tuesday, bolstered by record highs on Wall Street, but hobbled by uncertainty as traders waited on a Federal Reserve meeting for clues on US monetary policy.
MSCI’s broadest index of Asia–Pacific shares outside Japan turned slightly higher after dipping into negative territory. On Wall Street on Monday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at a record high for the fifth straight session and the S&P 500 marked its second straight closing record high, as higher US Treasury yields helped lift financial shares.
