NIFTY CLOSES NEAR INTRADAY RECORD HIGH; SETTLES ABOVE 9,600

Ending at fresh high for the fourth consecutive session,  Sensex settled at 31,170, up 60 points, while Nifty closed at record high for third straight session. It ended at 9,624, up 19 points. Markets settled the day on fresh highs with Nifty settling above the 9,600 mark for the second consecutive session as arrival of monsoon rains cheere but the gains were capped as the investors booked profit in recent outperformers. Adani Enterprises closed higher by 5.9% at Rs 117.Max Financial Services closed higher by 4.1% at Rs 559. Coromandel Agro Products closed higher by 4.8%. Mangalore Chemicals closed higher by 11.5% 
GLOBAL MARKET:
European geopolitical fears sapped risk appetite, weighing on Asian stocks and lifting safe havens including the yen and gold, though trading was thin with several markets closed for holidays. The pan-European STOXX 600 index was down 0.2% following three straight days of losses while Britain's FTSE dropped 0.4% as it reopened following a long weekend. MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan fell 0.2% with US and British markets closed on Monday. China, Hong Kong and Taiwan markets are closed for holidays on Tuesday.
