MARKETS ENDED IN POSITIVE TERRITORY AFTER A RANGE BOUND INTRADAY TRADE.

The Sensex and Nifty were trading higher by nearly 0.4 per cent due to covering-up of pending short positions in view of August derivatives expiry above 9,900 thanks to gains in information technology (IT), realty and auto stocks. But investors remained cautious ahead of the GDP data for the June quarter to be released later in the day. Sensex was up 92 points or 0.29 per cent at 31,739 and Nifty was up 32 points or 0.34 per cent at 9,917.Bombay Dyeing and Manufacturing Company was buzzing on Thursday’s trading session amid volatile market. The stock breached upper circuit at Rs 114.80. It also traded new 52 week high at Rs 114.80 per share on Thursday. Defence stocks namely Astra Microwave Products closed higher by 3.13% at Rs 130 per share, Reliance Defence and Engineering closed higher by 6.86% at Rs 57.65 per share and Walchandnagar Industries closed higher 2.84% at Rs 144.85 per share
GLOBAL MARKET:
Investors rediscovered a taste for the dollar and Asian shares on Thursday as upbeat Chinese and US economic news whetted appetite for riskier assets globally, even as tensions over North Korea simmered in the background. MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan edged up 0.2 per cent, leaving it a modest 0.7 per cent firmer for the month so far. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 27. points, or 0.12 per cent, to end at 21,892, the S&P 500 gained 11 points, or 0.46 per cent, to 2,457. and the Nasdaq Composite added 66 points, or 1 per cent, to 6,368. The Nasdaq closed within 1 per cent of its record closing high set in late July.

NIFTY, SENSEX END NEARLY 1% HIGHER

The Sensex and Nifty rose nearly 1% on Wednesday, recouping most of the losses in the previous session, ahead of derivatives expiry of August series due tomorrow.  Sensex ended higher by 258 points or 0.82 per cent at 31,646. and Nifty closed up by 88.35 points or 0.9 per cent at 9,884. Across the board buying in metal, oil & gas, energy, realty, industrials, financials, auto, capital goods, consumer durables and banks helped indices to recover most of previous day's losses.

NIFTY EXTENDS FALL, TRADES BELOW 9,800

Snapping four sessions of gains, Indices extended losses in noon deals with Nifty slipping below its crucial 9,800 mark as the firing of a missile over Japan by North Korea rattled investors, while the F&O expiry of August series due Thursday also hit sentiment. Sensex is down 354 points at 31,396, while Nifty is down 116 points at 9796. Reliance Infrastructure Ltd surged 7.7 per cent.
GLOBAL MARKET:
S&P mini futures fell as much as 0.85 per cent on the news before paring losses to trade 0.5 per cent below its close on Monday, when it was little changed. Japan's Nikkei fell 0.7 per cent to four-month low while South Korea's Kospi shed 0.5 per cent, helping to drag down MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan 0.3 per cent.

NIFTY, SENSEX END HIGHER; INFY TOP GAINER

Indices ended higher on Monday, gaining for a fourth consecutive session of gains with Nifty settling above 9,900, as index heavyweight Infosys surged on the first day of trading since the appointment of co-founder Nandan Nilekani as chairman on hopes that the move would help defuse a months-long row between the founders and the board.  Sensex ended higher by 154 points or 0.49 per cent at 31,750 and Nifty closed up by 55 points or 0.57 per cent at 9,912. Federal Bank was top gainer in the index closed at Rs 109, up by 3.05%.Housing Finance companies were buzzing with the gains in today’s trade. Coral India Finance & Housing was top gainer in the sector to end at Rs 64, up by 8%.
GLOBAL MARKET:
Globally, European shares fell in a broad sell-off as the euro strengthened after ECB chief Mario Draghi did not express concern about a strong currency in a closely watched speech.
