Sensex and  Nifty closed about 1% higher for the second straight day on Friday led by gains in oil and banking stocks. Sensex closed higher by 261.76 points, or 0.76%, to 34,924.87, while the Nifty 50 rose 99 points, or 0.94%, to close at 10,612. BEML Ltd shares were up 1.70% to Rs949. Castrol India Ltd shares traded 5.83% higher to Rs172. Shreyas Shipping and Logistics Ltd shares were up 10.73% to Rs574. Gateway Distriparks shares gained 11.02% to Rs184. India Cements Ltd shares rose 5.09% to Rs131. Ceat Ltd shares rose 3.85% to Rs1350 .Sudarshan Chemical Industries Ltd jumped 15.69% to Rs517. Cox & Kings Ltd gained as much as 11.89% to Rs 232. IFCI Ltd gained as much as 9.79% to Rs18. Jain Irrigation Systems Ltd gained as much as 6.33% to Rs104. Granules India Ltd shares declined as much as 6.32% to Rs77. United Spirits Ltd rose as much as 6.90% to Rs3337.

Sensex and Nifty  gained nearly 1% on Thursday led by gains in IT stocks Infosys and TCS as the rupee weakens against the US dollar. rose over 100 points in the opening trade on Thursday against its previous day’s closing. Sensex closed higher by 318.20 points, or 0.93%, to 34,663, while the Nifty 50 rose 83 points, or 0.80%, to close at 10,513. ONGC shares tumbled 11.4% to hit a low of Rs 155. Oil India Ltd slipped 11.2% to Rs 204. Man Industries India Ltd shares rise 3.34% to Rs128. NCC Ltd shares jumped 8.75% to Rs114. The Nifty Auto Index was down 1.43%. Tata Motors shares fell 7%. Bharat Forge 5.28%, Motherson Sumi 2.38%, TVS Motors 1.51%, Maruti Suzuki 0.86% and Bajaj Auto 0.56%. Jet Airways India Ltd shares fell 8% to Rs 400 .

Sensex closed lower by 306 points, or 0.88%, to 34,344, while the Nifty fell 106 points, or 1.01%, to close at 10,430. The Sensex was up 14.3 points or 0.04 per cent at 34,630. and the Nifty up 13.45 points or 0.13 per cent at 10,530. Sensex and  Nifty traded flat on Tuesday following mixed cues from global markets and over political uncertainty in Karnataka amid fourth quarter earnings. Asian markets were subdued early on Tuesday despite gains seen on Wall Street on the back of an apparent cooling in recent US-China trade tensions. The Indian rupee on Tuesday strengthened marginally against the US dollar, tracking gains in Asian currencies.DLF Ltd shares fell 4% to Rs185. Just Dial shares rose 6% to Rs431. Future Retail Ltd shares fell 5.1% to Rs 501 . SBI shares were trading 0.47% up at Rs246, Andhra Bank (down 2.29%), Bata India (down 0.17%), Cipla (down 0.17%), IOC (down 1.94%) are among the companies that will be announcing their March quarter earnings today. Indian generic drug maker Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd posted an about 3% fall.

Sun Pharmaceuticals Industries Ltd shares rose 1.5% to Rs487, ADAG Group stocks gains. Reliance Communications Ltd surged 20%, Reliance Naval and Engineering Ltd rose 7%, Voltas Ltd shares fell 6% to Rs547. Central Bank of India shares fell 3% to Rs63. Bajaj Finance Ltd shares rose 3.2% to Rs2,133. Bajaj Auto Ltd shares rose 2.3% to Rs2,883. RCom shares jumped as much as 24.77% in intraday trade to hit a high of Rs 20.65 after gaining nearly 57% on Thursday. Bajaj Auto Ltd on Friday reported a 34.67% jump in March quarter (Q4) net profit on the back of higher motorcycle and three-wheeler sales in domestic and overseas markets. Strides Shasun Ltd shares slumped 21.78% to Rs393. Sensex closed lower by 156 points, or 0.44%, to 35,387, while the Nifty fell 60 points, or 0.56%, to close at 10,741. Sensex and  Nifty closed lower for a second straight day on Wednesday, tracking losses in global equities amid rising geopolitical tensions in the Korean peninsula. Shares in Asia and Europe declined after North Korea called off talks with South Korea, throwing a major US-North Korean summit into question. Moreover, Kranataka election results threw up a hung assembly in the state, giving the three main parties an opportunity to form post-poll alliances. Punjab National Bank fell 10% to Rs 80. Reliance Communications Ltd shares slumped 10% to Rs 11. Shares of midcap public sector banks were also trading weaker. Allahabad Bank fell 9%, Oriental Bank of Commerce 3.5%, Canara
